I’m Steph, an Illinois based photographer who specializes in family, portrait, senior, and lifestyle photography.
Like many photographers, I am deeply passionate about connecting with people and skillfully narrating their stories through the art of photography. Candid, unposed moments are what I thrive on!
When I’m not taking photographs, you can find me trapped in the pages of a good book, enjoying the great outdoors with my husband and our golden retriever, working on a new art project, or filming a wedding. (I really do love being behind the camera!)

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
Don’t major in pre-med! JK. Sort of haha. Your dream of being a photographer will be a reality. Don’t give up! And keep practicing because learning is important.
MY STYLE
BEHIND THE CAMERAMy photography style leans more photojournalistic. When it comes to kiddos, imagine a sort of controlled chaos haha. I love photographing kids being kids, at whatever stage of life they’re in. The big picture, in addition to the minute details are also important. The smallest things can really push along your image story, and help bringing out the real and true of what makes you and your family who you are. I consider myself both optimistic and laid back, (and have been told I’m very patient!) which tends to help when you're photographing children. Mostly, like all humans, I like to have fun!
EDITINGThree words I use to describe my editing style are organic, earthy, and genuine. I prefer to use grain as a tool, as opposed to “smoothing” things out. If you’ve seen or used any snapchat filter, you know what I’m sayin’!
LET’S MAKE IT FUN
You may have noticed already, but I love photography sessions involving a theme. Preferably, I like adding activities that represent you and your loved ones authentically, something that makes your unique family dynamic really pop in your photos. Do you run a family farm? Let’s take the session there! Do you enjoy evening bike rides with the kids? Perfect, I did that with my mom too! Not every session needs to be the “sit and stare at the camera” type. Let’s get out and have some fun with it!
