So far May has been a blast. I’ve loved meeting all of the wonderful folks who decided to hop aboard the mommy and me mini session train and am so thankful that Jodi and Maddox are two such people.

The twins turned six months, and it’s time for another milestone photography session. These cuties sure now how to smile for the camera! I’m so blessed to call myself their family photographer and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Three days ‘till Christmas! Or, at least it was when I visited the Barth’s at their lake house. It was a beautiful sunny day. The stockings were hung. The lights were twinkling. And the weather outside was indeed frightful, with a high of 7 and a windchill of -25. Perfect day for an in home session!

Since we’ve entered the cold part of the year, I’ve started scheduling more in home sessions. Personally, I think these are some of the best. Your kiddos are in a familiar comfy space, and the photos captured are real and true memories.

Winter photography sessions offer a unique charm that cannot be replicated in any other season. The soft, ethereal light, the serene snowy landscapes (or a little brown and windy in this case!), and the cozy layers of knit and flannel create a magical aesthetic.

A cool senior session trend I’ve seen this year is wearing family heirlooms. Jewelry, shoes, dresses, you name it. How neat is it to get to wear something that’s been passed down from generation to generation?! Color me obsessed!

I had the opportunity to photograph Lara and Kyle’s beautiful family, and let me tell you, they certainly know how to love and laugh. I had an absolute blast catching up and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the DeGroots!
