Lynlee Has A Sister: Maylee’s First Sesh

AND SECOND

Like many things in life, sometimes you just have to try again. I’d say sadly that was the case here, but let’s be honest, I’m not sad that I got to spend time with these little cuties twice in a row!

Read on for more!

Let me explain further. When I take newborn photos, I always like to include some with the family, parents, siblings, whoever wants to be in the photographs. Of course we snap some swaddled up baby shots, but I love adding the family in because babies are only so little for so long, making every moment spent with them extra precious. Lynlee, Maylee’s big sis, was not having a good day at our first session. It’s something I think every family photographer (and parent for that matter!) has experienced at one point or another. What do you do when things aren’t going according to plan? Adjust!

In this case, adjusting meant making the most of what we had, then rescheduling to a later date. Did I take some photographs of the meltdown? Yes, yes I did haha. When I was a toddler, I remember having a similar meltdown during a session with my brother. The photographer at the time had this weird Goofy (the cartoon) puppet that totally freaked me out. I remember bawling my little eyes out and I wouldn’t let my mom put me down (there were many snack bribes involved!). Unfortunately, there are no photographs of that tantrum and what a shame that is! While I won’t be sharing Lynlee’s crocodile tear pics, I do think someday they will make her laugh!

The second photography session day went much better for Lynlee, although it did come with flowers, sticks, and swings.
